" On Sunday morning Mrs Lloyd, wife of Mr W. Lloyd, of Reid's Gully, Parkes, died after a brief illness. The deceased lady, who was 71 years of age at her death, was one of the pioneer settlers of the district and was most highly respected by all who knew her. She was of a particularly kindly sympathetic nature, ever ready to assist in the time of need and responding cheerfully to charitable appeals, and as such gained a wide circle of friends. She was married twice, her first husband being Mr Jas. Ross, and leaves a grown up family of nine. Her remains were interred in the Church of England portion of the public cemetery on Sunday."
