In 1871 Elizabeth Burton, aged 25 [sic], born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, and husband William Burton, aged 35, born in Pendoylan Glamorgan, general hauler, were living in Cross Ways, Llancarvan Glamorgan. With them were children Richard (7) of Pendoylan, scholar, William (5) of Llancarvan, scholar, Thomas (3) of Llancarvan, and Sarah (1) of Llancarvan.

In 1881 Eliza Burton, aged 39, born in Wenvoe Glamorgan, and husband William Burton, aged 48, born in Pendoylan Glamorgan, gen: labourer, were living in Crossways, Llancarvan Glamorgan. Present were children (born in Llancarvan) Richard (17), labourer, William (15), scholar, Thomas (13), scholar, Sarah (11), scholar, Ann (5), scholar, Eliza (3), scholar, and Rebecca (1).

In 1891 Elizabeth Burton, aged 49, born in Wenvoe Glamorgan, and husband William Burton, aged 55, born in Pendoylan Glamorgan, farmer, were living in Grendown, Bonvilstone Glamorgan. With them were children Richard (27) of Pendoylan, and born in Llancarvan: William (25), Ann (15), Elizabeth (13), scholar, Rebeca (11), scholar, Catherine (8), scholar, and Margaret (6).

In May 1900 Elizabeth Burton, widow, was granted Administration of the personal effects of her late son Thomas Burton of Cadoxton.

In 1901 Elizabeth Burton, aged 59, born in Cardiff [sic], widow, and daughters Cassie (18) and Maggie (16), were staying with Elizabeth's son Richard Burton, farmer, in Greendown Farm, Bonvilstone Glamorgan. Daughters Elizabeth Burton and Rebecca Burton were with their maternal grandfather, Richard Howell, in Knap House, Cadoxton-juxta-Barry Glamorgan.
