In 1851 John Howell, aged 80, born in St. George's, farmer of 14 acres, and wife Mary Howell, aged 69, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, were living in Pencoetry St. Andrews Glamorgan. Present were son-in-law John Harris (33) of St. Andrews, carpenter, daughter Mary Harris (28) of St. Andrews, grandchildren (born in St. Andrews): Thomas Harris (8), Elizabeth Harris (4), John Harris (1)

In 1861 John Howells, aged 90, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, widower, ag lab, was with his daughter Mary Harris and her family in Pencotry [Pencoetre] in St. Andrews.
