In 1861 Rees Howell, aged 48, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, master carpenter employing 3 men, and wife Elizabeth Howell, aged 60, born in Wenvoe Glamorganshire, were living at Post Office, Wenvoe Glamorgan. With them were sons (born in Wenvoe) Henry (25), journeyman carpenter, and John (22), journeyman carpenter.
In 1871 Rees Howells, aged 58, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, widower, carpenter, was living in Village, Wenvoe Glamorgan. In 1891 Rees Howells, aged 78, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, widower, was working as a carpenter for Laura Jenner at Wenvoe Castle, Wenvoe Glamorgan.

The Will of Rees Howells late of Wenvoe in the county of Glamorgan who died 9 September 1891 at the parish of St. Andrews in the said county, was proved 1 October at Llandaff by the Reverend George Herbert Jenner of the Rectory Wenvoe, clerk, and Thomas Evans of the Vishwell Wenvoe, land agent, the executors.
