In 1851 Rees Howell, aged 38, born in St. Andrews Glamorganshire, carpenter employing 2 workmen, and wife Elizabeth Howell, aged 50, born in Wenvoe Glamorganshire, were living in Village, Wenvoe. With them were sons (born in Wenvoe) Henry (15), apprentice, and John (12), scholar.

In 1861 Rees Howell, aged 48, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, master carpenter employing 3 men, and wife Elizabeth Howell, aged 60, born in Wenvoe Glamorganshire, were living at Post Office, Wenvoe Glamorgan. With them were sons (born in Wenvoe) Henry (25), journeyman carpenter, and John (22), journeyman carpenter.

In 1871 Rees Howells, aged 58, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, widower, carpenter, was living in Village, Wenvoe Glamorgan. With him were son Henry Howells (34) of Wenvoe, married, carpenter, daughter-in-law Fanny Howells (29) of Malmsbury Wiltshire, and grandsons (born in Wenvoe) John Howells (4) and Charles Howells (2 mo).

In 1891 Rees Howells, aged 78, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, widower, was working as a carpenter for Laura Jenner at Wenvoe Castle, Wenvoe Glamorgan.

The Will of Rees Howells late of Wenvoe in the county of Glamorgan who died 9 September 1891 at the parish of St. Andrews in the said county, was proved 1 October at Llandaff by the Reverend George Herbert Jenner of the Rectory Wenvoe, clerk, and Thomas Evans of the Vishwell Wenvoe, land agent, the executors. Personal estate £307 17s. 5
