In 1851 Mary Harris, aged 28, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, and husband John Harris, aged 33, born in St. Andrews, carpenter, and children (born in St. Andrews): Thomas Harris (8), Elizabeth Harris (4), and John Harris (1) were with Mary's parents in Pencoetry St. Andrews Glamorgan.

In 1861 Mary Harris, aged 39, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, and husband John Harris, aged 43, born in St. Andrews, carpenter, were living in Pencotry St. Andrews. With them were children (born in St. Andrews) Thomas (18), tailor, Elizabeth (14), scholar, John (11), scholar, Mary Ann (9), scholar, Margaret (7), scholar, Oliver (4) and Louisa (1). Boarding was (Mary's father) John Howells (90), widower, ag. lab.

In 1871 Mary Harris, aged 49, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, and husband John Harris, aged 53, born in St. Andrews, carpenter [and] farmer of 12 acres, were living in Upper Pencoetry St. Andrews. With them were children (born in St. Andrews) Thomas (28), tailor, Oliver (14), apprentice carpenter, Louisa (11), scholar, Emily (9), scholar, Alice (7), scholar, and grandson Robert Harris (4) of Cadoxton Glamorgan, scholar.

In 1881 Mary Harris, aged 59, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, and husband John Harris, aged 63, born in St. Andrews, farmer of 10 acres & carpenter, were living in Pencoitry St. Andrews. Present were daughter Emaly (19) of St. Andrews, and grandchildren (born in Canton Glamorgan) William H Townsend (5), scholar, and Caroline Townsend (3), scholar.

In 1891 Mary Harris, aged 69, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, and husband John Harris, aged 73, born in St. Andrews, carpenter, were living in St. Andrews. With them were son Oliver Harris (33) of St. Andrews, single, carpenter, Emily Harris (28) of St. Andrews, grandchildren (born in Canton Glamorgan) William H Townsend (16), apprentice carpenter, and Caroline Townsend (14), board school teacher.

In 1901 Mary Harris, aged 79, born in St. Andrews Glamorgan, and husband John Harris, aged 83, born in St. Andrews, carpenter, were living in Pencoitre St. Andrews. With them were son Oliver (44) of St. Andrews, single, carpenter, and grandson William Townsend (26) of Cardiff Glamorgan, milk vendor (own account).

Mary Harris of Pencoedtre St. Andrews died aged 86 years (burial record). The M.I. records an age of 87.
