In 1891 Richard Burton, aged 27, born in Pendoylan Glamorgan, was with his parents in Grendown, Bonvilstone Glamorgan.

In 1901 Richard Burton, aged 36, born in Cardiff Glam:, single, farmer (own account), was on Greendown Farm, Bonvilston Glamorgan. With him were mother Elizabeth Burton (59) of Cardiff, widow, sisters Cassie (18) and Maggie (16).
