Death of Mrs. Josiah Thomas of Camborne.
News of the sudden death of the wife of Capt. Josiah Thomas, of Camborne, managing director of Dolcoath Mine, was received throughout the Mining Division with much regret, Mrs. Thomas being widely known among rich and poor, and as a true helpmeet to her husband. Mrs. Thomas leaves several sons, one of whom, holding an important post in West Australia, a comparatively short time ago returned on a visit to Cornwall. Other sons are Dr. Telfer Thomas, Mr. F. W. Thomas, secretary of Dolcoath, and Capt. Arthur Thomas, of Dolcoath. An accident, which caused fracture of the leg for a time, laid her aside, but up to the day of her death her enjoyment of and interest in those surrounding her continued unabated. Mrs. Thomas passed away an hour before midnight on Tuesday, heart affection being the cause of death.
