In 1901 Jos V Thomas, aged 30, born in Camborne Cornwall, solicitor, and wife Edith M. Thomas, aged 28, born in Ludgvan Cornwall, were living at 49 Morrab Road, Penzance. With them were sons Fred B. V. (4) of Penzance and Eric L. V. (1) of Uny Lelant.
In April 1902 Joseph Vivian Thomas, solicitor, was granted Probate of his late father's estate.
In 1911 Joseph Vivian Thomas, aged 40, born in Camborne, solicitor, and wife of 16 years Edith Mary Thomas, aged 38, born in Ludgvan (mother of 4 children) were living in Trevidren, Penzance. With them was son Ralph Marsingall Vivian (6) of Penzance.

A very pretty wedding took place at the Wesleyan Chapel, Lelant, on Wedneday week, the bridegroom being Mr. Joseph Vivian Thomas, solicitor, of Penzance, fifth son of Captain Josiah Thomas, of Dolcoath and Tregenna, and the bride, Miss Edith Mary, second daughter of Mr. Frank Craze, of Trevethoe Barton, Lelant. Rev. W. Henry Thompson, chairman of the Cornwall Wesleyan district, officiated, assisted by Rev. T.Richards, of St. Ives. The bride was given away by her father, and the best man was Captain R. A. Thomas, brother of the bridegroom, and the groomsman was Mr. W. F. Rabling, of Parc Bracket, Camborne. The bridesmaids were Miss Thirza Craze, of Penzance, a relative of the bride, and Miss Dunstan, of St. Columb, cousin of the bridegroom.....
