Parties John Madern, Pensance, and Richard Pendarves, Camborne, 20 Aug 1625 with seal; plus similar deed; plus Agreement; plus Bond all same parties and dated; plus three indentures, first half 17th century, poor condition.

Abstract of the Will of Richard Pendarves of Pendarves in the County of Cornwall, Gentleman, written 1 Dec 1668, proved 16 Sep 1674. 3

He gives to the poor of Camborne £5. (£1 to be distributed yearly on Good Friday).

He gives to Katherine his wife chests, trunks, bedding, bedclothes and linen in 'my Chamber where we Lye.' 'And allso the Curtaines, Vallens & paines' (?) 'in the Greene Chamber and allso my white mare which I used to ride And the Roane Mare called the Crooper'..

He gives to his second son Richard part of the manor of Hellogan, purchased of Sir Peter Courtney, Kt., in Camborne, Crowan, Gwinear and Madron, in occupation of Ann Jeffries, widow, John Harte, John Symons, John Polles, Eliz. Rosewarne, widow, Richard Veale, gent., Wm. Cowlen and Ric. Leddra. Also messuages and lands in Bossense alias Bussyn, St. Erth, occ. Wm. Davies. Also Higher Bosaverne in St. Just in Penwith - Also Talskns alias Tolskois in Gwinear occ. Humphrey Tom. Also properties in Markasjowe alias Marasion, St. Hilary, occ. Hen. Badcock, James Millett, Ric. Nennis, John Hill, Ric. Collins, . . . . . . . Oake, widow. All above to 2nd son Richard for life, then heirs male. In default of heirs with remainders to Thomas and James Pendarves, third and fourth sons. Richard Pendarves (2nd son) to pay Thomas Pendarves his brother £200 and his brother James £200.

Gives £10 to his daughter Alice, wife of Reginald Bawden.

Gives £10 to his granddaughter Elizabeth, daughter of Reginald Bawden.

Gives to Mary Arundell daughter of obt. Arundell - £5

Gives to his eldest daughter Ann £500. If she married without consent of her mother Katherine and of Ezechiel Arundell, Esq., Francis and Wm. Arundell, gents. and of 2nd son Richard Pendarves, then she was to have only an annuity of £20 for life.

Gives to his second daughter Dorcas £500. Both portions to daughters Ann and Dorcas to be paid, half at six months after their marriage and the other half 12 months after their marriages. If they married before death of testator, above legacies to be void.

Testator lent to his eldest son William Pendarves £100 'out of the first money I received of his wives portion'. If Wm. Pendarves paid this to executors and allowed his mother Katherine two chambers in Pendarves 'with sufficient wood for fireing' and provision for 2 horses and liberty to make use of one of the kitchens. If Wm. Pendarves paid £100 towards raising portions for other children. Then William to have half 'of all my Outward stock and Cattle' and one half of household goods except those given to wife Catherine.

Residue of personal estate to wife Katherine and second son Richard. They appointed executors.
