Abstract of the Will of Thomas Pendarves, Rector of the Parish of Columb Major in the County of Cornwall, written 12 Apr 1703, proved 26 Feb 1704/5. 4
Gives £6 to the poor of the parishes of St. Columb and Mawgan.
Gives £550 to his wife Grace in accordance with the marriage bond paid to his wife's brother Richard Hoblyn, Esq. He also gives her his new house and garden in the town of St. Columb for the term of her natural life.
Gives £500 to his daughter Grace Pendarves, to be paid to her at the age of twenty-one or the day of her marriage. Further, he wills an additional £300 to her if his nephew Richard Pendarves dies.
All the rest of his lands, tenements, goods & chattels he gives to his son William Pendarves and his heirs, appointing him sole executor of his last will and testament.
Nominates as trustees and overseers his friends and kinsmen Robert Hoblyn of Nanswhedon, clerk, John Williams of Trehane, Esq., Hugh Bawden of Guthene?, Gent., Thomas Hoblyn of Tresaderne, Gent. and his wife during her widowhood, as guardians of his children during their minorities.
Gives £100 to his sister Hickes if living.
Gives £100 to his sister Courtney if still living, and if deceased, to his niece Catherine Williams wife of John Williams, Esq.
Gives £100 to his cousin Hugh Bawden and his sister Catherine Coode, to be equally divided between them.
