The twentie five Daye of July 1623 In the name of God Amen I Alexander Thomas alias Penderves of the parishe of Marasacke alias Cambourne in the Countie of Cornwall being sicke in body but in mynde and remembrance I prayse god perfect, Doe make this my last will and Testament revoking all former wills and legacies therein conteyned. In primis I bequeath my soule into the hands of God my maker and preserver trusting by the passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to obteyene life everlasting and my body I commend unto Christian buriall. In primis I give and bequeath unto Peeter Tom Twenty marks: Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Henry the somme of Fiftie pounds. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne the wife of John Arundell the somme of Fiftie pounds which the said John Arundell doth owe mee. Item I give and bequeath unto Christopher Arundell, John Arundell and Alice Arundell Children of the said John Arundell each of them one Cowe. Item I give and bequeath unto the poore of the parishe of Camborne five pounds to be paid them in five yeares, that is to say, Twenty shillings yearely during the said five years to be paid and distributed unto Twenty of the said poore yearely on Good Friday before Easter. Item I give and bequeath unto Alice my wife the one halfe of all my goods as followeth that is to say, corne, sheepe, oxen, kyne, calves, horses, mares, Coltes and housholde goods within doores and without within the Tenement of Penderves and Roserrananand elsewhere. And also I give bequeath and assigne unto my said wife the Tenement of Penderves and Roserranan during the whole tyme that shee shall continue sole and unmaried and not otherwise. All the rest of my beasts goods and chattells whatsoever not given and bequeathed I give and bequeath unto my said sonne Richard Penderves whome I make my whole executor.
Probate (From the Latin) The above written will was proved in London before the Venerable Sir Henry Marten, knight, Doctor of Laws, Master, Keeper or Commissary, lawfully appointed, of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, on the 7 th day of the month of February in the year of our Lord according to the course and computation of the Church of England one thousand six hundred and twenty four, on the oath of Richard Penderves, son and executor of the said deceased [ underlined words crossed through ] named in this will, to whom administration of the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased was granted, well and faithfully to administer the same, having sworn on the Holy Gospels, by virtue of a commission, before Edward Collins, clerk. 4
