Daughter Jane, christened 13 Mar 1842, was buried the next day.

In 1851 John Richards (38) of Penmark Glamorgan, mason, was living at 3 Golden Lion Crescent, Cardiff St. John, Glamorgan. Present were wife Mary (37) of Middlestone P---, children (born in Cardiff): William (5), scholar, Ann (2), scholar. John's brother David was lodging nearby.

In 1853 John Richards was a witness at the marriage of his brother David to Mary Place.

In 1871 John Richards (59) of Penmark, mason, was living at 2 Locksmith Rd., Canton, Glamorgan. Present were wife Mary (56) of Dinas Powis, children (born in Cardiff): William (25), mason, Edward (16), scholar, Elizabeth (14), scholar, and 2 lodgers.

In 1881 John Richards (68) of Penmark, mason, was living in Llandaff, Glamorgan. Present were wife Mary (67) of Michelstone, son William (35) of Cardiff, mason.
