In 1881 Edward Richards (26) of Cardiff, stone mason, was living in Llandaff, Glamorgan. Present were wife Elizabeth J. (25) of Cardiff, daughter Gertrude H. (1) of Cardiff.

In 1891 Edward Richards (36) of Cardiff, stonemason, was living at 14 Romilly Cres., Canton, Cardiff, Glamorgan. Present were wife Elizabeth J. (36) of Pontypridd, children (born in Cardiff): Gertrude H. (11), scholar, Beatrice M. (9), scholar, Laura M. (5), scholar, Ethel E. (2).

In 1901 Edward Richards (46) of Cardiff, foreman mason, was living at 118 Brunswick Rd., Canton, Cardiff, Glamorgan.
