Abstract of the Will of John Humphreys the Elder of Caerynwch, Gentleman, written 4 Aug 1718, proved 16 May 1719. 4

Gives & bequeaths 10 shillings to his son Einon Humphreys.

Gives & bequeaths £16 to his grandchildren Richard Poole, Anthony Poole, John Poole, and Elline Poole, to be equally divided among them.

Gives & bequeaths 20 shillings to his nephew Edward Humphreys son of his late brother David Humphreys deceased.

Gives & bequeaths 20 shillings each to his friends Richard Vaughan of Cors-y-gedol in county Merioneth, Esqr., Lewis Pryse of Cogellian in county Cardigan, Esqr., and Catherine Nanney of Nanney in county Merioneth, widow, in acknowledgement of the favours and kindness they've expressed towards him, his wife and children.

Gives & devises his largest English bible and Common Prayer book and his largest Welsh bible and Common Prayer book and his book in folio of the Whole Duty of Man to be heirlooms of his house where he now dwells in Caerynwch, and not to be made part of his personal estate.

All the rest and residue of his personal estate he gives & devises to his wife Grace Humphreys and his son John Humphreys whom he makes co-executors of his last will and testament.
