Dorothy Humphreys 1
- Born: Caerynwch, Dolgellau, Merioneth, Wales
- Married:
Research Notes:
J. E. Griffith shows Dorothy as the daughter of John Humphreys ('the Younger') and Margaret Vaughan, which is chronologically impossible. From the evidence, Dorothy was John Humphreys' sister and therefore daughter of John Humphreys ('the Elder') and Grace Vaughan. John Humphreys 'the Younger' married Margaret Vaughan in 1716; the majority of Dorothy's children by Anthony Poole were born during the same decade. Dorothy's son, John Poole, is named as a beneficiary in the Will of John Humphreys 'the Younger' and called his nephew. Dorothy's children Richard Poole, John Poole, Anthony Poole and Elin Poole are named as beneficiaries in the Will of John Humphreys 'the Elder' wherein he refers to them as his grandchildren.
Marriage Information:
Dorothy married Anthony Poole of Llanbedr, Esq., son of Richard Poole of Cae Nest and Gwen Vaughan. )
