Dorothy Meyricke 1

  • Born: Ucheldre, Gwyddelwern, Merioneth, Wales
  • Married: 1628 1
  • Buried: 12 Mar 1670 1

  Orthographic variation: MEYRICK

  Research Notes:

J. E. Griffith incorrectly shows Dorothy Meyricke, wife of William Humffreys of Maerdu, Gent. as the daughter of Edmund Meyricke. While Edmund did have a daughter named Dorothy (chr. 31 Mar 1626 in Llandderfel, Merionethshire), her husband William is named in Edmund's Will as his brother-in-law, making her a daughter of Peter Meyricke and therefore sister rather than daughter of Edmund.

  Marriage Information:

Dorothy married William Humphreys "the Elder" of Maerdû in Gwyddelern, Gent., son of Humphrey ab Elisau of Glan Alwen in Llangar & Maerdû in Gwyddelern and Eleanor Lloyd, in 1628. (William Humphreys died in 1666.)
