Refers to an Indenture dated 20 Jan 20 Chas. II [1668/9] made between William Humphreys the Elder deceased, father of the said William Humphreys, and himself, the said William Humphreys and Lewis Meyrick of Grays Inn in the County of Middlesex, Esqr. of the first part, Maurice Williams of Aberdunne? in county Denbigh gent and Richard Wynne of Ruthin in the said county of Denbigh, mercer, of the other part, in consideration of the marriage of him the said William to Jane his present wife, and of the sum of £550 marriage portion, the with a portion thereof not exceeding £200 in preferment of his younger children born of his said wife Jane.
Gives, devises & bequeaths £50 to his second son Edward Humphreys, being part of the said sum of £200.
Gives & devises £20 to his third son Elisha Humphreys, being another part of the said sum of £200.
Gives & devises £50 to his fourth son John Humphreys, being likewise another part of the said sum of £200.
Gives & devises £80 to his daughter Ellin, being the rest of the said sum of £200.
Gives & bequeaths to his eldest daughter Grace one shilling, to whom he owes £200.
Gives & bequeaths to his eldest son William Humphreys his black mare, best saddle, holsters, riskells & sword.
Gives, devises & bequeaths all the rest & residue of his goods, chattels, and other personal estate between his said wife and his youngest son Robert Humphreys whom he nominates & appoints joint executors of his last will and testament.
