Margaret Vaughan 1 3

  • Born: Hengwrt, Llanelltyd, Merioneth, Wales
  • Married (1):
  • Married (2):
  • Buried: 31 May 1688, Dolgellau, Merioneth, Wales 2

  Research Notes:

According to Lewis Dwnn, Margaret Vaughan was buried in Dolgellau on 25 Oct 1646, after having married twice, and having produced a daughter by her second marriage who was of age by 1676. The entry from the Dolgellau Parish Register for burials, dated 31 May 1688 reads:

Margarett Vaughan was buried in linnen & the forfeiture due by the Act of Parliament was paid by the informer Robert Vaughan Gent. to the hands of John Hanf----- & John Gryffith church wardens of the parish of Dolgelley to the use of the poor of the said parish. It is more likely that the 1646 burial refers to Margaret's grandmother, Margaret widow of Howell Vaughan.

  Marriage Information:

Margaret married Willam Pryce, Rector of Dolgelley, on an unknown date.

  Marriage Information:

Margaret also married Robert Vaughan of Caerynwch, Gent., son of Tudor "Fychan" ap Dafydd Llwyd of Caerynwch and Elizabeth ferch Ieuan. (Robert Vaughan was buried on 30 Jul 1693 in Dolgellau, Merioneth, Wales.)
