In 1851 Susannah Horsell, aged 69, born in Cotmarsh and husband Bartholomew Horsell, aged 82, born in Wootton Bassett, Captain (Army, half pay), magistrate of the borough of W. Bassett..., were living in Marsh Cottage, Lydiard Tregoze. With them were son Frederick Horsell (29) of Wootton Bassett, farmer's son, granddaughter Mary Ann Yorke (18) of Cheshnut Herts, visitor.
