Abstract of the Will of Robert Mundee of Cotmarsh in the Parish of Broad Hinton in the County of Wilts, Yeoman, written 24 Jun 1783, proved 8 Jul 1785. 3
Gives, devises & bequeaths to his friends Thomas Maskelyne of Harrys Croft in the parish of Wootton Bassett, yeoman, and Thomas Short of Wootton Bassett, maltster, his freehold messuage or tenement, backside garden close of ground, lands and hereditaments in the parish of Lydiard Millicent in co. Wilts, and also his messuage, burgage or tenement in Wootton Bassett, as well as all his household goods, cattle, stock, farming utensils and implements of husbandry, upon Trust, to allow his wife Ann Mundee to receive the rents, profits and issues of the aforesaid estates at Lydiard Millicent and Wootton Bassett for the term of her natural life or until she marries again.
Wills that if his wife Ann Mundee should marry again then she is to be paid £100 out of his stock and directs his Trustees to then sell his household goods, stock, farming utensils and implements of husbandry and to use the money to the benefit of his children during their minority.
After the death or second marriage of his wife Ann Mundee he wills, devises & bequeaths his estate at Lydiard to his son William Mundee at the age of twenty-one years. If William should die before then he gives & devises the same to his son John Mundee on reaching the age of twenty-one years. And if John should die before reaching the age of twenty-one years, he wills and devises the same to his daughters to hold as tenants in common.
Wills that once either of his said sons takes possession of his estate in Lydiard Millicent, he is to pay to his other children £50 each.
Appoints his said wife sole executrix and residuary legatee of his last will and testament.
