OBITUARY.—On Saturday week Mrs. Page, widow of Mr. Richard Bristed Page, C.E., died at the residence of Dr. Spence, Gold Hawk-road, London, at the age of eighty-five years. Mrs. Page resided for many years at Aberystwyth during her widowhood, and was taken to London by her sons and daughters about six months ago where she was carefully attended by her daughters up to the time of her decease. Mr. Page, her late husband, was harbour master and consulting engineer to the Harbour Trustees at Aberystwyth when the harbour was an important concern. He was assisted by Mr. David Lewis, a man-o'-wars man, who fought with Nelson on board the Victory at Trafalgar. Mr. Page also acted occasionally as consulting engineer to the Aberystwyth Commissioners, and in that capacity carried out the construction of the first water works of the town and reservoir at Brynymor. Mr. and Mrs. Page had nine sons and daughters who lived to maturity. Mr. William and Mr. Edwin Page held important positions on the Taff Vale Railway, the latter marrying the sister of the late Mr. M. R. Davis, Aberystwyth. Mr. George Page holds an appointment in the Custom House, London; Mr. Richard Page went out to manage a railway in India and died very shortly after his arrival; and Mr. Arthur Page is now manager of a large ironmongery establishment in Worcester. Of the daughters, one married Mr. Charles Stevens, of London, and the second Mr. Hughes, chemist, Aberystwyth, the third, Mr. Roderick Williams, Aberystwyth, and the youngest, Mr. Dawson, formerly accountant in the M. and M. Railway offices, Aberystwyth, and now of London.
