At the time of the 1871 England Census Mary Ann Huggett, age 29, born in Lewes Sussex, and husband Jonathan Huggett, age 30, born in Chailey Sussex, labourer in chalk pits, were living in Pleasant Place, St. John sub Castro, Lewes Sussex. With them were children (born in Lewes): Jonathan (6) and Emily (1).
At the time of the 1881 England Census Mary Ann Huggett, age 42, born in Chailey [sic] Sussex, and husband Jonathan Huggett, age 49, born in Chailey Sussex, laborer chalk pits, were living at 3 Pleasant Place St. Johns, Southover Sussex. With them were children (born in Lewes): Jonathan (17), baker, Emily (11), scholar, Alfred E (10), scholar, George F (5), scholar, William G (1).
