At the time of the 1851 England Census Frances Heasman, age 16, born in Lewes Sussex, house servant, was with her parents in High Street, Layston Hertfordshire.
At the time of the 1871 England Census Frances M Preston, age 35, born in Lewis Sussex, and husband Alfred H Preston, age 25, born in Therfield Hertfordshire, carpenter, were living at 11 Rye Street, Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. With them was daughter Gertrude E (1) of Bishops Stortford.
In Aug 1871 Frances Mary Preston was present at the marriage of her sister Emily Heasman to Clement Allan Crinnold in Layston Herts.
At the time of the 1881 England Census Francis M Preston, age 45, born in Lewes Sussex, and husband Alfred H Preston, age 35, born in Therfield Herts, carpenter, were living in Rye Street, Bishop's Stortford Hertfordshire. With them was daughter Gertrude E (11) of Bps Stortford Herts.
At the time of the 1891 England Census Frances M Preston, age 56, born in Lewes Sussex, and husband Alfred H Preston, age 46, born in Thurfield, carpenter & joiner, were living in Rye Street, Bishop's Stortford Herts. With them was Frances's granddaughter Catharine G Wallace (6) of Buntingford Herts.
At the time of the 1901 England Census Frances Mary Preston, age 66, born in Lewes Sussex, widow, lets lodgings, was living in Hadham Road, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. With her was granddaughter Cath. G. F. Wallace (16) of Buntingford Herts., school teacher.
