In 1865 Benjamin Heasman of Buntingford in co. Herts was named in the Will of his mother-in-law Sophia Carey of Chailey, widow, as husband of her daughter Mary.
At the time of the 1881 England Census Benjamin Heasman, age 65, born in Lewes Sussex, widower, journeyman currier, was living in High Street Buntingford, Layston, Hertfordshire. With him were granddaughter Frances Heeley (19) of Dordritch Holland, dressmaker, and grandson Hemri Cowham (18) of Clerkenwell London, coachbuilder (apprentice).
In Dec 1882 Joseph Benjamin Heasman was present at the marriage of his granddaughter Frances Mary Ann Heeley to George Wallace in Layston.
At the time of the 1891 England Census Joseph B Heasman, age 75, born in Lewes, widower, currier, was lodging with [his granddaughter] Francis M A Wallace and her family in Norfolk Road, Aspeden, Hertfordshire.
