At the time of the 1851 England Census Mary Heasman, age 37, born in Friston Sussex, and husband Benjamin Heasman, age 35, born in Lewes Sussex, journeyman currier, were living in High Street, Layston Hertfordshire. Present were children (a) born in Lewes Sussex: Frances (16), house servant, Elizabeth (15), house servant, John (13) and (b) born in Layston Hertfordshire: Benjamin (11), scholar, Catharine (9), scholar, Harriett (5), Emily (3), Ellen (1).
At the time of the 1861 England Census Mary Heasman, age 46, born in Freston Sussex, and husband Benjamin Heasman, age 45, born in Lewis Sussex, journeyman currier, were living in Buntingford, Layston Hertfordshire. With them were daughters (born in Layston): Emily (13), scholar, and Ellen (11), scholar.
In 1865 Mary wife of Benjamin Heasman of Buntingford in co. Herts was named as a beneficiary in her mother's Will.
At the time of the 1871 England Census Mary Heasman, age 56, born in Friston Sussex, and husband Benjamin Heasman, age 55, born in Lewis Sussex, journeyman currier, were living in High Street, Buntingford, Layston Hertfordshire. With them were daughter Ellen (21) of Layston, dressmaker, granddaughter Frances M A Heely (9) of Dordretch Holland, and grandson Henry Benjamin Cowham (8) of Islington London.
