In Apr 1847 Lydia Eaton was present at the marriage of her sister Sarah Lock to George Elphick in Hastings All Saints Sussex.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Lydia Eaton, aged 37, born in Lewes Sussex, wife of a traveller, was living at 52 Lucas Street, St. George in the East, Middlesex. With her were daughters (born in St. George Middx): Lydia (5) and Jane (10 months).

At the time of the 1871 England Census Lydia Eaton, aged 43, born in Hastings Sussex, widow, laundress, was living in Lucas Street, St. George in the East, Middlesex. With her were daughters Lydia (15) of Poplar, leather bag maker, Jane (10) of St. George, scholar, Florence (9) of St. George, scholar, and nephew George Elphick (23) of Pevensey Sussex, clerk.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Lydia Eaton, aged 54, born in Hastings Sussex, widow, house "latting" lady, was living at 6 Johnston St., Mile End Old Town, London. With her were daughters Jane (20), machinist "brace", and Florence (19), both born in Stepney.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Lydia Eaton, aged 71, born in Hastings Sussex, widow, was living at 22 Johnson St, St. George in the East, London. With her were daughter Florence Mallcott (34) of St. George in the East, married, tailoress (presser) and granddaughter Ethel E Mallcott (2 or 12) of St. George in the East.
