In Jul 1840 John Eaton was present at the marriage of his brother Thomas Eaton to Ann Matilda Merrix in Paddington Middlesex.
At the time of the 1851 England Census John Eaton, aged 36, born in Guestling Sussex, carpenter & joiner, and wife Lydia, aged 25, born in Hastings Sussex, were living in George St., Kingston-upon-Thomas, Surrey. With them were stepson Caleb Crouch (17) of Hastings, carpenter & joiner, and niece Ellen Eaton* (6) of Paddington Middx, scholar.
