  Research Notes:

In 1789 Elizabeth Lock was a beneficiary of the Will of her maternal grandfather John Phillips of Hastings, mariner.

In 1814 Elizabeth the wife of William Eaton was bequeathed £20 in the Will of her paternal grandfather James Lock 'the elder' of Hastings, mariner.

In 1833 Elizabeth the wife of William Eaton of Guestling in the county of Sussex, blacksmith, was bequeathed £500 in the Will of her uncle John Phillips of Hastings St. Clement, gentleman.

In 1836 Elizabeth the wife of William Eaton was bequeathed £10 in the Will of her brother-in-law Benjamin Eaton of Guestling, blacksmith.

In 1838 Elizabeth Eaton was co-executor and a beneficiary of her husband's Will.

At the time of the 1851 England Census Elizabeth Eaton, aged 71, born in Hastings Sussex, widow, was living at 12 Union Row, Hastings All Saints. With her were children (born in Guestling, unmarried): Elizabeth (42*), dressmaker, and Benjamin (37), butcher.
