In 1789 Sarah Lock was a beneficiary of the Will of her maternal grandfather John Phillips of Hastings, mariner.
In May 1806 Sarah Lock was present at the marriage of her sister Mary Lock to John Gallop in Hastings St. Clement.
In 1814 Sarah the wife of [blank] Hoad was bequeathed £20 in the Will of her paternal grandfather James Lock 'the elder' of Hastings, mariner.
In 1833 Sarah the wife of Harry Hoad of Northiam, farmer, was bequeathed an annuity of £50 for her own personal use in the Will of her uncle John Phillips of Hastings St. Clement, gentleman.
In 1838 Sarah Hoad was the sole executrix of the Will of her son Henry Hoad of Battle.
In 1845 Sarah Hoad was the sole executrix of the Will of her son John Fuller Hoad of Hastings.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Sarah Hoad, aged 68, born in Hastings Sussex, widow, was visiting [her daughter] Margaret Plomley and her family in South Side Street, Peasmarsh Sussex.

Gives to her daughter Margaret the wife of John Croft Plomley all her clothes, wearing apparel, rings and trinkets.
Gives to her son Tom Harold Hoad all her household goods, furniture, plate, linen, china, glass, books, pictures and other effects. If he should die before her, she gives the same to her daughter Margaret Plomley and to her son Frederick Hoad to be equally divided between them.
Gives £100 to her sister Mary Gallop, widow.
Gives £50 in Trust to her son Frederick Hoad to be paid toward the education, apprenticing and advancement of her grandson Charles Hoad (the son of her deceased son John Fuller Hoad) during his minority.
Gives, devises and bequeaths the residue and remainder of her personal and real estate to her sons and daughter Frederick Hoad, Margaret Plomley and Tom Harold Hoad.
Devises to Edwin Martin of Battle in co. Sussex, gentleman, all estates vested in her upon Trust or by way of mortgage.
Appoints her son Frederick Hoad sole executor of her will.
