At the time of the 1851 England Census Margaret Plomley, aged 33, born in Brightling Sussex, and husband John C Plomley, aged 34, born in Northiam Sussex, vetenary surgeon, were living in South Side Street, Peasmarsh Sussex. With them were children John (5) of Northiam, Francis (4) of Northiam, and Margaret (2) of Peasmarsh. Visiting was [Margaret's mother] Sarah Hoad (68) of Hastings, widow.

In 1857 Margaret the wife of John Croft Plomley was a beneficiary and residuary legatee of her mother's Will.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Margaret Plomley, aged 43, born in Brightling Sussex, and husband John C Plomley, aged 44, born in Northiam Sussex, veterinary surgeon employing 7 men, were living at 40 Earl St., Maidstone Kent.
