In 1851 Owen Owens (67) of Talyllyn, farmer of 700 acres employing 1 labourer, and wife Margaret (66) of Talyllyn, were living in Hendra Towyn Merioneth. Present were children (unmarried, born in Talyllyn): Owen (39), Hugh (36), Joseph (30)
In 1861 Owen Owens (77) of Talyllyn Merionethshire, farmer of 1030 acres, widower, was living in Hendre Maes y Trefnant Montgomeryshire. Present were son Owen (49) of Talyllyn, son Hugh (46) of Talyllyn, niece* Ellinor Evans (17) of Dolgelley, house maid, niece* Jane Evans (10) of Rhuabon Denbigh, scholar
* Ellinor Evans and Jane Evans were Owen's granddaughters and nieces of Owen Jr and Hugh.

In the Name of God Amen I Owen Owen of Hendre in the Parish of Towyn in the County of Merioneth do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say
In the first place I revoke and annul a Will made and signed by me on the twelfth day of January 1857.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane the sum of twenty pounds sterling (£20)
I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph the sum of one hundred pounds sterling (£100)
I give and bequeath unto my son Humphrey the sum of twenty pounds sterling (£20)
I give and bequeath unto my son William the sum of one hundred pounds sterling (£100)
As to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects of what kind or nature soever I give and bequeath the same to my son Owen and my son Hugh to share and share alike.
I appoint my son Owen and my son Hugh to be my Executors of this my Will. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 20th day of January A.D. 1858 Owen Owen Signed by the said Testator Owen Owen as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto...

Proved at London 10th Sept. 1864 by the oath of Owen Owen the Son one of the Executors to whom Admon was granted. Power reserved of making the like grant to Hugh Owen the son also the other Executor.
