In 1851 Jane Evans (32) of Talyllyn Merioneth and husband Evan Evans (38) of Talyllyn Merioneth, assistant clerk [----], were living in Ruabon Denbighshire. Present were children: Margaret (10) of Llan--- Montgomery*, Ellanor (8) of Dolgelley Merioneth, Louisa (6) of Dolgelley, Jane (9 months) of Ruabon

* Based on Margaret's age, she was most likely her father's daughter by a previous marriage. Daughter Eleanor was born in 1842, the year of his marriage to Jane Owen.

In 1861 Jane Evans (43) of Talyllyn Merionethshire and husband Evan Evans (53) of Talyllyn Merionethshire, clerk in colliery, were living at 8 Railway Terrace, Ruabon Denbighshire. Present were children Louisa D. (16) of Dolgelley Merionethshire, Owen W. (8) of Ruabon, Catherine E. (5) of Ruabon, Sarah Ann (4) of Ruabon

Daughter Catherine ("Kate") was with her uncle Owen Owens in Hendra Maes y trefnant Towyn Merioneth.
