Begs leave to return his sincere thanks to his Friends and the Public in general, for the support he has experienced during the time he has been in the above line of business, and now begs leave to inform them, that having yielded to the advice of his friends, he has added to his said business that of AUCTIONEER and APPRAISER. Those persons who may please to favour him with their commands, may rely on its being his greatest study to gain the confidence of his employers, and if possible, to give the utmost satisfaction.

AUCTIONEER, and APPRAISER,
BEGS to return thanks to his friends and the public in general for the favours conferred on him during the time he has been in the above line, and informs them, that from the nature of his severe accident he has not been able to attend to his business since August last, but now being so far recovered as to attend to their commands, he most humbly solicits a continuance of their favors, in support of a wife and eight small children, (one being a cripple from infancy) all of whom are entirely dependant on his exertions for support, and assures them, that it shall be his future endeavour, as it has always been, his greatest study to merit the confidence of his employers—returns his grateful thanks to those gentlemen who had kindly favored him with the order of their Sales previous to his accident.

N.B. Chaises, gigs, harness, saddles, &c. waggons, carts, farming implements, and effects, horses, bullocks, hogs, &c. will be SOLD BY AUCTION before the Crown Inn, Hailsham, every Stock-Market Day.—The amount of sales paid immediately, and the lowest commission charged....

At the time of the 1841 England Census Ody Wenham, aged about 50, auctioneer, and wife Elizth., aged about 45, were living in Hailsham Sussex. Present were children: Ody (25), shoem[aker], William (15), Samuel (15), weaver, Naomi (8), Jane (6).
At the time of the 1851 England Census Ody Wenham, age 62, born in Hellingly, auctioneer & valuer, and wife Elizabeth, age 59, born in Seaford, were living in Hellingly Sussex. With them were children Samuel C. (25) of Hellingly, twine spinner, and Jane A. (16) of Hailsham, servant.
