In Feb 1843, the day after her own marriage, Elizabeth Sergeant and her husband George were present at the marriage of Elizabeth's sister Sophia Wenham to Charles Roberts in Hailsham.

At the time of the 1851 England Census Elizabeth Sargent, age 35, born in Hellingly Sussex, married, was living in Kings Quay Street, Harwich St. Nicholas, Essex. With her were children (born in Harwich): George (6), Samuel (6), William W (4), and Charles (2).

At the time of the 1861 England Census Elizabeth Sergeant, age 45, born in Ellingly Sussex, wife of Warrant Officer Royal Navy, was living at 19 Ann St., Woolwich Kent. Present were children (a) born in Harwich Essex: George (16), moulder Royal Arsenal, Charles E. (12), scholar, Henry C. (10), scholar, and (b) born in Woolwich Kent: Frederick J. (6), scholar, Elizabeth J. (3), scholar.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Elizabeth Sargeant, age 55, born in Hellingly Sussex, and husband George Sargeant, age 51, born in Seaford Sussex, retired boatswain R.N., were living at 19 Ann St., Woolwich Kent. Present were children: William W (23) of Harwich Essex, butcher, Charles E (21) of Harwich, unemployed grocer, Henry E (20) of Harwich, clerk in telegraph office, Frederick J (16) of Woolwich Kent, labourer in factory, and Elizabeth J (13) of Woolwich.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Elizabeth Sergeant, age 65, born in Hellingley Sussex, and husband George Sergeant, age 63, born in Seaford Sussex, retired Warrant Officer Royal Navy, were living at 19 Ann St., Woolwich Kent. Son William W Sergeant and his wife were at the same address.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Elizabeth Sargent, age 75, born in Hellingly Sussex, widow, was living at 19 Ann St., Woolwich. With her were son George Sargent (46) of Harwich Essex, widower, general labourer, and grand daughter Ada P Sargent (14) of Woolwich Kent, general servant.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Elizabeth Sargent, age 85, born in Hallenlye Sussex, widow, in receipt of Admiralty Pension, was living at 20 Ann St., Woolwich.
