TO DEBTORS AND CREDITORS.
NOTICE is hereby given, That William Adams of Alfriston, in the county of Sussex, Innkeeper and Carrier, has this day assigned over all his estate and effects to Messrs. JOHN BODLE of Alfriston aforesaid, Brewer, and THOMAS BAKER of Eastbourne, in the said county, Innkeeper, in trust for the benefit of themselves, and such other of the creditors of the said William Adams, who shall execute the same ; notice is therefore given, that the said deed of assignment is now lying at the house of the said John Bodle, in Alfriston aforesaid, for execution by the said Creditors, and that the same will continue there until the 5th day of March next ; immediately after which a dividend will be made amongst such of the creditors as shall have executed the same ; and such creditors of the said William Adams as shall not have then executed the said deed of assignment will be excluded all benefit arising therefrom.
All persons standing indebted to the said William Adams, are desired immediately to pay the amount of their respective debts to the said John Bodle, or Thomas Baker, the assignees, on or before the said 5th day of March next ; otherwise legal proceedings will be commenced against those making such default, without further notice.

At the time of the 1841 England Census William Adams, aged about 60, carpenter, was living in Star Lane, Village, Alfriston Sussex. With him was [daughter] Barbara Adams, aged about 25.
At the time of the 1851 England Census William Adams, age 73, born in Alfriston, widower, inmate, formerly innkeeper & carpenter, was living in Alfriston Sussex.
