In 1841 Edith Miles, aged about 40, and husband Christopher Miles, aged about 45, carpenter, were living Broadtown, Cliffe Pypard. With them were children: William (21), John (19), Thomas (16), Anna (13), Edmund (8), Sarah (7 months).

In 1851 Edeth Miles, aged 51, born in Cliffe Pypard and husband Christopher Miles, aged 56, born in Cliffe Pypard, carpenter, were living in Broad town Road, Cliffe Pypard. With them were children (born in Cliffe Pypard, unmarried): William (30), carpenter, Thomas (26), carpenter, Edmund (18), carpenter, Sarah (10), scholar, Kate* (3).

In 1861 Edith Miles, aged 63, born in Cliffe Pypard and husband Christopher Miles, aged 67, born in Cliffe Pypard, carpenter with 1 apprentice, were living in Broad town, Cliffe Pypard. With them were daughter Sarah (20) of Cliffe Pypard, granddaughter Kate Miles (12) of Cliffe Pypard, scholar, and apprentice Mark Chesterman (19) of Cliffe Pypard.

In 1871 Edeth Miles, aged 72, born in Cliffe Pypard and husband Christopher Miles, aged 77, born in Cliffe Pypard, carpenter, were living in Broad town, Cliffe Pypard. Present were son William Miles (50) of Cliffe Pypard, married, carpenter, and daughter Sarah Miles (30) of Cliffe Pypard, unmarried. Son Edmund and his family were living nextdoor.

In 1881 Edith Miles, aged 83, born in Cliffe Pypard, widow, was staying with her widowed [sic] son William Miles (60) of Cliffe Pypard, carpenter, in Broad Town Lane, Cliffe Pypard.
