In Jun 1868 William Carey was present at the marriage of his sister Harriet Sarah Ann Carey to Hamlin Baker in Brighton St. Nicholas.

At the time of the 1871 England Census William Carey, age 23, born in Lewes Sussex, single, bricklayer, was with his brother Charles Carey and his family at 28 Cannon St., Brighton Sussex.

At the time of the 1881 England Census William Carey, age 31, born in Clerkenwell [sic], bricklayer, and wife Amelia, age 24, born in Clerkenwell [sic], were living in Gloucester St., Clerkenwell London. With them was daughter Ninette (2 months) of Clerkenwell.
