At the time of the 1891 England Census Amelia Carey, age 33, born in Plymouth Devon, and husband William Carey, age 42, born in Lewes Sussex, bricklayer, were living at 45 Henry St., Lambeth London. Present were children: Minette (10) of Clerkenham, Jessie (7) of Kennington, Frederick (6) of Kennington, Laura (5) of Kennington, William (3) of Kennington, and Amelia (2) of Kennington.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Amelia Carey, age 43, born in Plymouth Devon, and husband William Carey, age 52, born in Lewes Sussex, bricklayer, were living at 45 Henry St., Lambeth London. Present were children: Minnetta (20) of Clerkenwell London, ironer, and born in Kennington: Jessie (17), machinist, Frederick (16), printer compositer, Laura (14), William (13), Amelia (12), and John (9).

At the time of the 1911 England Census Amelia Carey, age 53, born in Plymouth Devonshire (mother of 9 children, 2 deceased), and husband of 33 years William Carey, age 63, born in Brighton Sussex, bricklayer in brewery, were living at 4 Vauxhall Buildings, Lambeth London. Present were sons (born in Kennington London): William (23), farrier's assistant, John (20), farrier's assistant. Visiting were [daughter] Jessie Palmer (27) of Lambeth, and husband Walter Palmer (28) of Lowestof, railway carman, and their children (born in Lambeth): Wallice (3) and Leslise (1).
