In 1844 Henry Richard Bristed was a beneficiary of his father's Will, receiving his silver watch with the chain and seals, as well as his writing desk with the name of Wood thereon. Given the name, this presumably would have been an heirloom from Henry's mother.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Henry R Bristed, age 29, born in Cripplegate Middlesex, warehouseman, button & trimmings, and wife Anna M, age 32, born in Billingsgate Middlesex, were living at 14 The Crescent, Edmonton Middlesex. With them were children Anna M (2) of Shoreditch Middlesex, and Henry (1) of Edmonton.
In 1851 Henry Richard Bristed was co-executor of the Will of his stepmother Sarah Hester Bristed, in which Will he was bequeathed a legacy of £100.
At the time of the 1861 England Census Henry R Bristed, age 40, born in Barbican Middx, bonded carman employing 8 men & 1 boy, and wife Anna M, age 41, born in Thames St. City of London, were living 19 George Street, Old Tower Without, Middlesex. Present were children: Richard B (4) of Old Tower Without, Louisa (2) of Old Tower Without, and Arthur H (8? mo) of Old Tower Without.
