Abstract of the Will of Thomas Short of Wootton Bassett in the County of Wilts, Gent., written 7 Jul 1688, proved 7 Nov 1700. 6
Gives and devises the hall and shop and the chambers over them where he now lives in Wootton Bassett to his son Thomas Short and his heirs, following the death of his wife Joane. Once his son Thomas has taken possession of the said premises, he wills that Thomas pays £5 to his brother John, £5 to his brother William Short and £10 to his brother Vincent Short.
Gives to his son Henry Short that part of the premises that extends from the stable to the hedge in the garden.
All the rest of his goods and chattels he gives and bequeaths to his wife Joane whom he makes sole executrix of his last will and testament.
