In January 1707 Vincent Short and others took inventory of the goods and chattels of the late Sarah Maskelyne of Wootton Bassett, widow, deceased.
In 1710 Vincent's mother, Joane Short of Wootton Bassett, widow, made bequests to her granddaughters Joanna Short, Elizabeth Short and Christian Short.
In 1714 Nicholas Boulton of Wootton Bassett, yeoman, willed £5 to his granddaughter Elizabeth Short daughter of Vincent Short. He also gave £5 to his grandson William Short and amounts to his other grandchildren including Christian Short, Johannah Short, and Mary Short.
