In 1694 Obadiah was the sole executor of his father's Will, in which he was bequeathed tenements in Waldron amounting to about 84 acres of land comprised of barns, orchards, gardens, arable, meadow, pasture and woods.
Obadiah's second son, Obadiah, was christened in Heathfield on 8 Jan 1704/5 and buried there on 18 Feb 1704/5.
Obadiah Bristed appears in the 1705 Poll Register for Waldron. 4
Obadiah and his family moved to Wadhurst sometime between 1718 and 1723.
In April 1724 Obadiah Bristed was a witness to the Will of his brother-in-law Joseph Chapman of Waldron, yeoman.

In the Name of God Amen I Obadiah Bristed of Wadhurst in the County of Sussex Yeoman Being in Health of Body and of a Sound and Disposing Mind Memory and Understanding Thanks be to allmighty God for the Same and Considering the Certainty of Death and uncertainty of the time Thereof do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in Manner and form following (that is to say) First I Humbly recommend my Soul to the Infinite Mercy of God in Christ Jesus my Only Redeemer trusting to his Meritts and Satisfaction for the Salvation Both of my Soul and Body at the Resurrection of the Just my Body I remit to the Earth by a decent Buriall at the Discretion of my Executors herein after Named And as for that worldly Estate with which God hath Pleased to Bless me I Dispose thereof as Followeth First I Desier my Just Debts and Funirial Expences Be first Counted and Paid Item I Give unto four of my Children five Pounds Each to be Paid Twelve months next after my Discese That is to Say Ezekiel Richard Benjamin and Mary Item I give unto Three of my Children one Shilling Each That is to Say John Thomas And Sarah By Reason they have had five Pounds Each all Ready Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Loveing Wife Sarah all that my Message or Tennament with the Apportenances Thereunto Belong lying and Being In the Parish of Mayfield In the County abovesaid and now in the Tenure and Occupation of Thomas Robert Judge : the Term of her Natural Life Not Making aney Willfull Spoil or Seeing it to be Don and after her Discese I Give the afore house and Land unto my Son Ezekiel to the Intent that he or his heiers Shall be impowered to Sell the Same for the Best Prise he or they Can Get within Two Years after my Wife deceses and my mind is that all my Real and Personall Estate Be equally Devided amongest my Seven Children that is to Say Share and Share alike And I do hereby make Ordain Constitute and appoint my afore Said wife Sarah and my Son Ezekiel Executrix and Executor of this my Last will and Testament In Witness whereof to this my Will Contained in one Single Sheet of Paper I have Set my hand and Fixed my Seal This Seventh Day of October in the Year of our Lord God one Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty and Seven.
