Benjamin appears to have married twice, first to Mary Longley who died in Heathfield shortly before Benjamin married to Alice Warrell. Son Benjamin, who is called 'Benjamin Bursted the Younger' in the Waldron parish registers, was born of this first marriage, christened in Wadhurst on 16 Dec 1610, the entry reading: 'Beniamin son of Beniamin Burstead of Tisehust.' Benjamin married Alice Warrell in 1615 for whom is recorded only one child, Richard.

In 1619 'Beniamin Burstowe' was named in the Will of his father-in-law Richard Warrell of Heathfield as husband of Richard's daughter Alce.
