In 1766 William and his elder brother Joseph were beneficiaries of the Will of their uncle William Akehurst of Herstmonceux.

Writing his Will in Jan 1792 Joseph Akehurst of Beddingham, shepherd, bequeathed to his daughter Frances the wife of William Stephens of Westfirle his two copyhold tenements in Alfriston which had previously been the estate of Joseph's brother William Akehurst. Joseph also bequeathed to Frances his copyhold cottage in Alfriston which had originally been the estate of William Akehurst's children Sarah Machen and William Akehurst.

  Marriage Information:

William married Elizabeth about 1750. (Elizabeth Akehurst was buried on 9 Mar 1800 in Berwick, Sussex, England.)
