  Research Notes:

On 20 Nov 1784 in Berwick Sussex 'baptiz'd privately William Henry son of Hannah Akhurst (base born)'.

----------------------

By 1791 Richard and Hannah were sojourning in Cowden Kent, a little over 6 miles NW of Withyham Sussex where Richard came from. Their eldest son Richard was christened in Cowden, aged 3 years, and it is likely he was born in Withyham. Note that in the 1841 England Census Richard Avis Jr. was recorded as not born in the county of Kent, and his younger siblings Susannah and James gave their birthplaces as Withyham in the Censuses. By 1800 Richard and Hannah were in Ashurst Kent, which is just over 4½ miles east of Cowden, and just under 5 miles north of Withyham.

----------------------

Hannah Avis of Withyham died aged 73 years (burial record).

  Marriage Information:

Hannah married Richard Avis, natural-born son of John Avis and Susannah Walker, on 9 Oct 1787 in Berwick, Sussex, England. (Richard Avis was christened on 27 Mar 1762 in Withyham, Sussex, England and was buried there on 3 Jul 1839, aged 77 years.)
