At the time of the 1861 England Census Thomas Mockett, age 16, born in Alciston, cow boy, was with his parents in Alciston Sussex.

In Mar 1871 Thomas Mockett was present at the marriage of his sister Hetty Mockett to William Carpenter in Arlington Sussex.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Thomas Mockett, age 26, born in Alciston, gamekeeper, and wife Ann, age 28, born in Hellingly, were living in Eneys, Wartling Sussex. With them were children Elizabeth A.D. (2) of Wartling and Arthur H G (7m) of Hurstmonceux.
