At the time of the 1841 England Census Henry Mockett, aged about 65, farmer, and wife Hetty, aged about 60, were living on Boy's Farm, Selmeston. Present were sons Thos Mockett (30), wheelwright, and John F (20).
At the time of the 1851 England Census Henry Mockett, age 77, born in Ninfield Sussex, widower, farmer of 66 acres employing 4 labourers, was living in Church Farm House, Selmeston Village, Selmeston Sussex. With him was grandson John Mockett (15) of Westfirle, employed on farm.

Bequeaths £25 to Eliza the widow of his late son Henry Mockett deceased.
Bequeaths £120 to his daughter Mercy the wife of [blank] Harvey of New Shoreham.
Bequeaths £5 to his daughter Sarah Mockett, widow.
Bequeaths £130 to his daughter Ann the wife of John Copley.
Bequeaths £5 to his son Alexander Mockett.
Bequeaths £25 to his son Thomas Mockett.
Bequeaths £30 to his grandson John Mockett Vincent, to be paid to him when he turns twenty-one.
All the rest and residue of his personal estate he gives to his said children Mary Howell, Joseph Mockett, Ann Copley and Mercy Harvey, share and share alike.
Nominates and appoints his son Joseph Mockett and his son-in-law Henry Howell co-executors of his will.
