2 Kresen Kernow (formerly Cornwall Record Office), Reference AP/C/893. Johanes (i.e. John) Carpenter who witnessed Henry's will was undoubtedly his older brother, both of whom are named as beneficiaries in the will of their maternal grandfather, Henry Carnarther of Illogan. Henry and John's father, William Carpenter, is named in their grandfather's will, and William Carpenter with his son John appear in a lease in 1623.

John Carpenter was living in 1640 when he witnessed the Will of Robert Hockine of Illogan, tinner.
