In August 1624 Henry Carnarther was a witness to the will of Parken Rodger of Illogan, yeoman. The following January Henry Carnarther and William Carpenter took inventory of his goods & chattels.

The Will of Henry Carnarther of the Parish of Illogan in the County of Cornwall, Yeoman, written 20 Feb 1625/6, proved 19 Apr 1626. 2

In the Name of God Amen. I Henry Carnarther of the p'ishe of Illuggan in the Countie of Cornwall yeoman beinge of p'fect minde & memorie at the makinge . . . . . . . thankes unto Allmightie God doe make this my last Will and testament, in manner & forme following

First I committ my soule into the hands of Almig[hty] God and my bodie to Christian Buriall

Imprimis I doe give and bequeath unto the poore mans box in the p'ishe of Illuggan fortye shillings.

Item I doe give my kynsman William Carnarther three po[unds].

Item I doe give and bequeathe unto my kynsman Jo[hn] Carnarther forty shillings.

Item I doe give and bequeathe unto my kynswoman Peternell Pawle iis.

Item I doe give [and] bequeathe unto my grandchildren John Carpenter and Henry Carpenter all my bills bonds all my money white kyne [and] black kyne but I do Except that theire father William Carpen[ter] shall have the use and managing of the said bills and bonds white kyne and black kyne untill the said John Carpenter and Henry shall come to the full age of Twenty and one yeares. And the said John & Henry are to pay t[he] legacies given by this Will and Testament.

All the rest of my goods not given nor bequeathed I doe give and bequeathe unto my wife Anne Carnarther whom I make my whole Executrix, but shee must at deathe all the sde goods & chattels unto her grandchild H[enry] Carpenter but shee may give & dispoose of Tene po[unds] at her will & . . . . . . . . All the rest of the said goods . . . . . . . to leave it unto Henry Carpenter aforesaid

. . . . . . . whereof I the said Henry Carnarther h[ave] hereunto sett my . . . . . . . the xxth day of Februarie Anno Domini 1625 In p'sence of Edward Collins, Clarke & Richard Harrie.

A true Inventorie of the goods & chattels of Henry Carnarther deceased was appraised by John Holberton and Richard Harrie of the said p'ishe the second day of March Anno Domini 1625.

Henry's goods &c were valued to £268 8s. 6d.

Henry married Anne about 1583. (Anne was living in April 1626.)
