John Vivian, aged 21, miner, and his brothers Joseph and Alfred, arrived in New York aboard the S. S. City of Paris on 24 May 1870. 4

At the time of the 1900 U.S. Federal Census John E. Vivian, aged 51, born in England (Jan 1849), widower, gold miner, was with his brother Joseph Vivian and his family in Goldfield, Teller, Colorado.

  Marriage Information:

John married Louisa Ellery, daughter of James Ellery and Eleanor James, on 7 May 1870 at the Registrar's Office, Redruth, Cornwall. (Louisa Ellery was born in 1853 in Redruth, Cornwall, christened 1 Jun 1856 in St. Day, Cornwall and died before 1900.)

  Marriage Notes:

At the Registrar's Office, Redruth, on the 7th inst., Mr. John E. Vivian to Louisa, seventh daughter of Mr. James Ellery, both of Gwennap.
